BRITTNEY'S APPLE CRUNCH PIE Filling: 5 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (Red Delicious) 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg ½ teaspoon allspice ½ teaspoon ground cloves 1 tablespoon butter Topping: 1 cup sugar ¾ cup flour 7 tablespoons butter Pie shell: 1 ¾ cup flour ¾ teaspoon salt 2/3 cup Crisco Mix with fork, add 1/3 cup ice water and 1 ¼ tablespoons ice water.
Put sliced apples in a bowl. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cloves. Mix and pour over sliced apples and stir. Pour apples into pie shell and place butter on top of apples. Mix topping ingredients together until crumbly. Sprinkle crunch topping over apples. Cover sides with foil and bake for 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Take foil off and bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
